Today, I’ll be trying Swiss Chard. I did some research and this low calorie green leafy veg packs one heck of a Nutritional PUNCH!
According to the website Nutrition and You chard is a great source of vitamin C and K. It’s also a great source of phytonutrients which aid in boosting up your immune system.
Chard is also a great source of soluble fiber which aides in cleaning your intestinal tract and keeping you regular.
ATTENTION DUDES: Especially old heads (+40) like myself. According to the above website, chard is also helps to reduce the likelihood of prostrate cancer.
I plan on trying a couple of recipes including a Green Juice Chard smoothie which will also contain golden beets, kale, green apple, and carrots.
I’m also planning to sauté the Chard with peppers, garlic, onion, and olive oil.
I’ll let you know how they both turn out!
