I just wrapped up my first round of PiYo and wow… what a ride! I actually just became a Certified PiYo Coach which is a pretty big deal for me. The last time I was so pumped about a program like this was P90X.
I’m not gonna lie. I was a little skeptical when I heard that Chalene Johnson was coming out with a new workout. Let’s be real, as a guy, I just could not get into her prior home based workouts like Turbo Fire and Turbo Jam… This Brotha man was not made to s”shake and shimmy”, lol…
PiYo quickly and convincingly eased all of my concerns. This program is extremely challenging and mega effective!!
It’s not boring like yoga can tend to be for beginners. There are no weights, nor any jumps, so its great on the joints, but let me tell you something, YOU WILL SWEAT… and the feeling you get after the workout.. OMG,my legs are still shaking, but I feel this incredible release of energy!!
ATHLETES: This is for you because you can easily incorporate this into your current fitness regimen to mitigate the onset of injuries, while increasing strength and flexibility.
BEGINNERS: This is also a great program for you because not only are there modifiers, PiYo meets you wherever you are in your fitness journey and will take you as far as you want to go. I’m telling ya… It’s the truth!!
So what’s Next? I’ll be integrating PiYo with BODY BEAST to achieve an ultimate balance between strength, size, and flexibility.
